 Welcome to Idita-Splash 2008!

The Idita-Splash fitness event was created at the request of Iditarod and water fans.

An event to promote physical fitness (through aquatics) in the spirit of the famous Iditarod Sled Dog Race. The Iditarod Sled Dog Race begins in Anchorage, Alaska and ends 1049 dog miles away under the finish arches in Nome, Alaska. Anyone, anywhere can complete the Idita-Splash (while keeping themselves fit) by totaling all of their water activity minutes (lap swims, water aerobics and classes, etc.) from February 1st - March 31st, 2008.

You can log your minutes anywhere you can swim! We hope you will join us for this year's event and get in to the best shape of your life.

The entry fee for the Idita-splash event is $25 or $45. All proceeds go to the Nome Northstar Swim Team.

All finishers will receive a great short-sleeved t-shirt or athletic sweat-shirt (based on registration amount paid).

Many water-lovers should participate for the pure pleasure of getting much-needed exercise. Some may do it for health reasons as well as to lose weight (visit the 'Health Benefits' links in the menu above)!

Join the furthest west aquatic event in the United States!

Who is the Nome Northstar Swim Team? Swimmers in Nome, Alaska ranging in ages from 7-16 who practice indoors at the Nome-Beltz Pool.
